When it comes to outdoor design, image really is everything. As a designer or contractor, the visual presentation you give your clients is your most valuable sales tool. Fetch-A Sketch, a new e-commerce website, will soon give all outdoor contractors the chance to make first-class presentations using renderings and perspectives created by todayıs top designers.
Set to launch in January, Fetch-A-Sketch is an online source for ready-to-use perspectives available to contractors, homeowners, and designers. The new site will offer thousands of drawings, from full landscape designs to renderings of individual features such as pools, ponds, waterfalls, fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens. Contractors can purchase, download, and print high resolution drawings to create winning presentations. Homeowners can also use the site to give their contractors a clear picture of the look they want for their property.
Fetch-A-Sketch will feature work from a variety of leading designers with new artists added each month. The first company featured will be the Green Scene, an award winning California-based outdoor design firm. Included will be hundreds of drawings from Green Scene designer Scott Cohen, whose work has been featured on Home and Garden Television, in Better Homes and Gardens magazine, and numerous other national media.
The initial library includes about five hundred drawings that are all of my design, says Cohen. "These are the same renderings I have used on programs like HGTVs Landscapers Challenge, Designing for the Sexes, and Property Buzz. We see this as a way to share some of the secrets of our success with other contractors."
Contractors and homeowners who use Fetch-A-Sketch can be confident that the plans they select are expertly designed. Before being added to the site, new designs undergo an approval process to ensure that only top quality work is featured.
Fetch-A-Sketch will allow contractors of all levels to present their ideas in a high-end format, says Cohen. Homeowners on the whole are not very visual. This is a fantastic tool for contractors to convey to clients the plans they have for their property.
The site has been designed with speed, convenience, and flexibility in mind. Drawings can be purchased in a variety of sizes and printed in either color or black and white. They can be downloaded for printing in home or office or can be purchased and professionally mounted in poster size. A contractor could literally create an entire portfolio in a matter of hours, says Cohen. The designs are readily available so contractors can quickly put together a full-color presentation to take to a clients home."
Renderings will appear without an original logo. Contractors can add their own logo and information before printing to create presentations uniquely adapted for each client.
Designers will find Fetch-A-Sketch an ideal venue for showcasing their work and generating additional revenue from plans they have already created. Qualified professionals can opt to become "featured designers." This enables customers to search for drawings from their favorite designers by name. Featured designers can present an album of their work along with a biography and links to their own websites.
